Harvest

Our family loves harvest time. Bill loves to see the crops be ready for harvesting out of the fields, and seeing the success of a year of hard work. (and I love to eat the fruits of the harvest.) We have been enjoying harvesting our garden. We did 60 quarts of freezer corn, about that many green beans, and bottled salsa of our own garden. (Not to mention growing some prize winning zuccini's :) I bought some peaches and pears, and we have several quarts of those on our shelves as well. I'm one of those people who loves to sit back and see the full bottles on the shelves. I know a lot of people don't even like the taste as much as store bought, but we do, so that makes it worthwhile.

As much as we love the harvest, we don't mind seeing it come to an end either. Which means we can slow down a little, and in not too long our focus will change from yard and garden work to that of shoveling the driveway and de-icing the walks.

Joshua is harvesting some new teeth as well. One week ago he pulled out his own bottom tooth. Bill, of course, tried to convince Josh to let him help. But he's seen the cries of pain from his brothers and sister, whether real or not, and he chose to inflict his own pain from his dangling tooth.

Jaron is harvesting another year of age. He turned 9 on the 29th. Happy Birthday, Jaron. Thanks for being such a good boy.

All three Harris boys were sad to have missed harvest this year, too. Even sadder, no potato harvest.
One year older and wiser, too! Happy Birthday to you! (Jaron)
Todd will pull the next loose tooth you have, Josh. Maybe by Saturday you'll have another one.
Later!

Happy Birthday Jaron. Josh is very brave to pull his own tooth. Nathan would not even let the tooth brush hit his loose tooth. It took forever to fall out.
